In PC there are three non-unicode coding around. TW301, HOTSYS, and TP. those are hacks to the ASCII coding.
Jason's method is unicode compliant.
If your brower and font are 100% unicode compliant then you
should be able to read it correctly.
sometimes the font's coding for some rare character is wrong,
and sometimes the brower can't taking care the combining character
correctly.
